Starting out in the colonial port city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, the E7 team traveled over the imposing Andes mountain range into Chile and down the ancient-feeling Careterra Austral. The route found the crew crossing the Andes again and navigating the fjords and high mountain passes on their way to reaching Ushuaia, Argentina, the Southernmost city in the world. The goal to drive across all seven of the world’s continents may have been reached, but the journey was not quite finished. The completion of the Pan-American Highway became the next goal. The team headed back north to Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, then west to Santiago, Chile. From there, the expedition would cross into 8 more countries in South and Central America before touching U.S. soil in San Diego. When the vehicles and team reach the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum in Tooele, Utah, they will have completed a global round-trip journey covering more than 58,000 miles over 2-plus years.
